Asaflow 80 mg acts on platelets and belongs to the group of drugs that prevent the formation of blood clots (antithrombotics). Asaflow is indicated for:
- The rapid (acute) treatment of a heart attack or unstable heart spasm (angina pectoris) and in case of some surgical procedures on the arteries of the heart.
- The prevention of certain cardiovascular diseases in patients who have already had problems with the heart or blood vessels (secondary prevention), such as heart attack, heart cramp (angina pectoris), some events at the level of the blood vessels in the brain or pain in the blood vessels of the limbs.
How to use
Always use Asaflow 80 mg exactly as described in the leaflet or as told to you by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are in doubt about the correct use, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
- For rapid (acute) treatment: starting dose of 2 to 3 tablets of 160 mg daily, followed by 1 to 2 tablets of 160 mg daily for several weeks.
- For prevention: 1 tablet of 80 mg to 1 tablet of 160 mg daily.
Composition
The active substance in Asaflow 80 mg is acetylsalicylic acid. The other ingredients in this medicine are: corn starch. The coating contains a copolymer of methyl acrylate and ethyl acrylate (1:1) 30% dispersion, propylene glycol, talc, and simethicone emulsion (polymethylsiloxane, methylcellulose, sorbic acid).
When should you not take Asaflow 80 mg?
You should not use Asaflow 80 mg if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in this medicine, if you currently have a stomach or duodenal ulcer, if you have a disorder of blood clotting, if you have an increased risk of blood loss, or if you have severely impaired liver or kidney function.
Possible side effects
Like any medicine, Asaflow 80 mg can have side effects. These may include nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, bleeding along nose or gums, increased blood loss during periods, bruising, headache, insomnia and cramping of the trachea branches (bronchospasm) in asthmatic patients.
How to store
Store Asaflow 80 mg below 25°C and out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiration date.
