Self-adhesive condom catheter, with a length of 8 cm, suitable for most men. For use with all types of urine collection bags.

Use instructions

1. Before application: clean the penis with water and a neutral, non-greasy soap. Do not use talc or creams, as they may cause the Conveen Optima condom catheter to not stick properly. If the Conveen Optima condom catheter is applied by a partner or caregiver, he or she may wear gloves.
2. Dry the penis thoroughly afterwards. Trim pubic hair slightly if necessary. Shaving can cause small wounds and is not recommended.
3. If you do not yet know the right size, take the size in the center of the penis using the Conveen Guide. Both sizing and application are done with the penis at rest (i.e. no erection). If the penis tends to pull into the abdomen – stand or lie down when applying and use a Conveen Optima condom catheter with a shortened shaft. If in doubt between two sizes, try the smaller size first.
4. Make sure the foreskin is over the glans. Place the Conveen Optima condom catheter on the penis. Leave ± 1 cm space between the glans and the anti-buckling system.
5. With your other hand, gently pull the strip toward you so that the Conveen Optima condom catheter unrolls evenly.
6. If you have used the correct size, there will be no ridges or creases after unrolling the Conveen Optima condom catheter. Press briefly and gently on the Conveen Optima condom catheter so that it sticks well to the skin. The Conveen Optima condom catheter sticks immediately. No separate adhesive is needed – and the adhesive does not need to warm up for proper adhesion. A Conveen Optima condom catheter can be used for up to 24 hours and cannot be reapplied.
7. Adhere a urine collection bag (leg or overnight bag) to the Conveen Optima condom catheter by pushing the urine bag connector into the tip of the Conveen Optima condom catheter. The tip of the Conveen Optima has a “sure grip” and a connector ring on the tip such that you can more easily hold the tip of the Conveen Optima condom catheter when attaching it to the urine bag. Push the connecting piece of the urine collection bag far enough into the tip of the condom catheter to ensure a good connection to prevent leakage.
8. The hose of the urinary leg bag is shortened with scissors to obtain the desired length. This prevents kinking of the hose and backflow of urine to the Conveen Optima condom catheter and loosening of the condom catheter. Firmly insert the connector into the tubing of the urinary leg bag and connect it to the condom catheter.
9. The 2 buttons of the widest leg strap are inserted at the top into the 2 openings of the leg bag. Similarly, the narrow leg strap is inserted at the bottom of the leg pouch. The length of the leg straps is adjusted to the circumference of the leg with scissors. Any overnight bag is attached to the side of the bed (at the level of the lower legs) by means of a bed hook.
10. To remove: disconnect the urine bag and gently roll back the Conveen Optima condom catheter. If necessary, lukewarm water can be used to facilitate this.
