Dymista nasal spray is a dual-action, prescription-only nasal spray that has been shown to relieve symptoms of hay fever and other allergies.

Dymista nasal spray contains 137 micrograms of the antihistamine Azelastine Hydrochloride and 50 micrograms of the steroid Fluticasone Propionate.

Hay fever, also known as seasonal allergic rhinitis or perennial allergic rhinitis, affects over 20% of the UK population.

Hay fever symptoms tend to begin at the end of Spring/beginning of Summer, the symptoms of which cause sneezing, blocked nose, runny nose, and red, itchy eyes.

Dymista nasal spray contains antihistamine and steroid medication to relieve symptoms of moderate to severe seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, when intranasal antihistamine and glucocorticoid are insufficient.

Try to use this nasal spray a few days before you think you're going to suffer from allergies. The spray can take up to 30 minutes to work; however, it could take a few days before you begin to feel the full effects.

Dymista nasal spray is suitable for long-term use, but only when required. Dymista contains benzalkonium chloride, and long-term use may cause swelling of the nasal airways.

Dymista can cause throat irritation, such as soreness or dryness in the throat or mouth. If this continues, seek medical advice and talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Adults and adolescents should use one spray in each nostril morning and evening – up to four sprays daily. It's essential to avoid exceeding the recommended dose.

You can use Dymista regularly during hay fever and allergy season, or all year if you have perennial rhinitis. If your symptoms last for over three months, please seek advice from your doctor, as they may be able to recommend longer-term treatments.

However, many people use it year-round to prevent and treat their symptoms.

Dymista might cause minor drowsiness and dizziness in some users. If this happens to you, please avoid using machinery and driving.

The effects should disappear once you get used to the medication, but long-term drowsiness and dizziness may mean you need to try an alternative treatment.

If you forget to take a dose, use it once you remember. However, if it's almost time for your evening dose, we recommend skipping the missed dose and continuing as usual.
