Prochlorperazine 3mg buccal tablets are an orodispersible tablet. They’re the same dose and a cheaper version of Buccastem M tablets, the branded version of prochlorperazine maleate. Prochlorperazine tablets are an anti sickness medicine that helps with treating nausea and vomiting from general sickness or migraine.

Buccal tablets are an effective anti sickness medicine used to alleviate nausea and vomiting caused by a migraine.
These tablets contain 3mg of the active ingredient prochlorperazine maleate.
This medicine is not suitable for everybody. Tell your doctor prior to taking prochlorperazine tablets if:
You are elderly
You are pregnant
You are breast feeding
You are trying to conceive
You have high blood pressure
You have risk factors for a stroke or a blood clot
You have high cholesterol
You have diabetes
You smoke
You have a family history of blood clots
You have a condition called myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness)
You have AIDS
This medicine contains sucrose, so if you have an intolerance to some sugars, speak to your doctor before taking it.
Speak to your pharmacist or doctor immediately if you are taking:
sedatives or tranquilizers
medicine to treat high blood pressure e.g. antihypertensive medicines
medicine to treat depression e.g. lithium desferrioxamine anticholinergic medicines
medicine to prevent or treat fits e.g. anticonvulsant medicines
desferrioxamine
Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine as it can increase the chance that you experience side-effects.
This medicine can make you feel drowsy, so it's best to avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until you know how the medicines will affect you.
Possible side effects of prochlorperazine include feeling dizzy or sleepy, blurred vision, slowed reaction time. If this happens, do not drive and do not use tools or machines.
Prochlorperazine may cause your skin to become more sensitive to sunlight than usual. Use a sunscreen that protects against UVA light and has a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 15.
Keep all medicines out of the reach and sight of children. Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct heat and light.
Take one or two tablets twice a day. Prochlorperazine tablets are most effective when taken after food.
DO NOT swallow buccal tablets whole or chew them.
Place the tablet high up along your top gum, under the upper lip either side of your mouth.
The tablet will soften and stick to the gum. Allow it to dissolve slowly and completely. This might take 1-2 hours.
DO NOT move the tablet around your mouth with your tongue as it will cause the tablet to dissolve too quickly.
Be patient with it, most people find that after a few minutes they no longer notice the tablet.
If you wear dentures, you can place the tablet in any comfortable position between your lip and gum.
