Finacea Gel

Finacea gel works to treat acne and to treat rosacea. It contains the active ingredient azelaic acid. 1 g Finacea Gel contains 150 mg (15%) azelaic acid. This prescription medication is used to treat mild to moderate facial acne and rosacea.

Azelaic acid has anti inflammatory and antimicrobial properties that make it an effective medication for treating rosacea and acne.

This ingredient works by encouraging skin cell turnover helping your skin heal faster and reduce scarring. It also kills the bacteria on the skin that are responsible for blocking pores, and in turn it makes acne less visible by working to reduce skin inflammation.

Apply Finacea gel to affected skin areas with acne and rosacea twice a day (once in the morning and once in the evening).

Before applying Finacea gel, ensure skin is thoroughly cleansed with plain water, a soap free cleansing lotion, or other mild skin cleansing agent, before being patted dry.

Apply approximately 0.5 g of gel to the entire face – this amount is sufficient to cover the entire facial area.

Rub the treatment in gently.

The effects Finacea gel may take a few months to show. However improvements to the appearance of acne and rosacea can usually be seen in the first month of using this product.

It's important to stick with the treatment as any breaks will slow the effectiveness of the gel.

It is recommended by the manufacturer to avoid using alcoholic cleansers, tinctures, astringents, abrasives and peeling agents alongside this product.

Finacea gel has a high success rate for treating rosacea and acne. However, it doesn't work for everyone, with some patients reporting no reduction in their rosacea or acne.
