Calprofen Suspension is suitable for children aged 3 months to 12 years for the relief of pain and fever associated with various conditions, including colds, flu, teething, sore throat, earache, and other aches and pains.
Calprofen Oral Suspension should not be given to:
Babies under 3 months of age
Babies weighing less than 5kg
Children with a history of allergic reactions to ibuprofen or other NSAID painkillers
Children with asthma, a stomach ulcer, or two or more episodes of a stomach ulcer, or bleeding disorders
Children with unexplained stomach pain
Children who have or have previously had high blood pressure, heart problems, or a stroke. Or are taking medication to treat high blood pressure
Children with any conditions that may put them at risk of heart problems, e.g. diabetes, high cholesterol
Children taking other medications that may interact with ibuprofen
Children taking any other anti-inflammatory painkillers, NSAIDs, or aspirin with a daily dose higher than 75mg
Children with severe kidney, liver problems, bowel problems such as chronic inflammatory bowel disease, or heart failure
Always speak to your doctor or pharmacist before giving Calprofen Suspension to a child with any underlying medical conditions or if they are taking other medications or related painkillers.
