Fenpaed oral suspension will help reduce temperature, inflammation and pain in young children. Ibuprofen, the active ingredient in Fenpaed oral suspension, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).
NSAIDs work by blocking the production of prostaglandins, which are chemicals that play a role in inflammation and pain.
The ingredients in Fenpaed oral suspension are:
Active ingredient: ibuprofen 100mg/5ml
Excipients: glycerol (E422), xanthan gum, maltitol liquid (E965), polysorbate 80, saccharin sodium (E544), citric acid monohydrate, sodium methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E219), sodium propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E217), purified water and strawberry flavour (contains propylene glycol).

The usual children's dosage of Fenpaed oral suspension is 20mg/kg/day in divided doses. This means that the total recommended dose of ibuprofen that your child should take in a day should be equal to 20mg per kilogram of their body weight. This dose can be given in 3 or 4 divided doses throughout the day.
For example, if your child weighs 10kg, they should take a total of 200mg of ibuprofen per day. This could be given as 5ml of Fenpaed oral suspension every 6 hours.
Do not give Fenpaed oral suspension to your child more often than every 6 hours.
Fenpaed oral suspension is a safe and effective medicine for most children aged three months and over. However, it is important to read the patient information leaflet carefully before giving it to your child, and to follow the dosage instructions carefully.
Do not give this medicine to children who are allergic to ibuprofen or other anti inflammatory medicines. It should also be used with caution in children with asthma, impaired kidney function, or a stomach ulcer.
It is not recommended to take Fenpaed oral suspension if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
