Pepto-Bismol 17.5 mg/ml Oral Suspension – 240ml

Pepto-Bismol provides relief by coating the stomach lining, which can ease discomfort from conditions including nausea, heartburn, indigestion, and diarrhoea. Its active ingredient, bismuth subsalicylate, is well-known for calming inflammation and preventing diarrhoea.

Pepto-Bismol typically starts to ease symptoms within around an hour of taking it, although response times can vary from person to person. However, avoiding additional doses is essential if you don't feel immediate relief, as it can cause side effects.

You can take Pepto-Bismol for two days in a row, but prolonged usage can cause side effects and mask underlying conditions. Please see a doctor if your symptoms are still present after two days of usage.

Pepto-Bismol can be used by children aged 12 years and older. However, there's a minor risk of Reye's syndrome when used in children under 16. If you have a young child with nausea or an upset stomach, you should give them Pepto-Bismol Kids.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please seek advice from a doctor or pharmacist before using Pepto-Bismol. It may be suitable during early pregnancy but is generally not recommended later on due to potential risks.

Although alcohol won't interfere with how Pepto-Bismol works, drinking while experiencing stomach issues can worsen dehydration and irritate your digestive system, particularly if you have diarrhoea.
