Agiolax Granules | 250 g

Agiolax is a plant-based medicine based on Plantago ovata Forssk and is indicated in the symptomatic treatment of constipation and in those cases where soothing bowel movements is desirable (e.g., hemorrhoids), and that after any serious condition has been ruled out.

How to use

• The recommended starting dose is 1 or 2 teaspoons of Agiolax with a glass of liquid in the evening with dinner.
• Take it without chewing.
• After 24 or 48 hours, depending on the results obtained, reduce the dose to 1 teaspoon in the evening. After that, half a teaspoon in the evening will be sufficient. If results are not obtained, it is necessary to consult your doctor. The maximum daily dose of Agiolax is 2.5 teaspoons.

Composition

The active ingredients per dose of 7.5 g are: Plantago ovata Forssk 4 g, seeds and Cassia angustifolia Vahl, fruits 0.269 g to 0.526 g corresponding to anthracene derivatives calculated in sennoside B at 12 mg. The other substances in this drug are: Mint oil, Caraway oil, Sage oil, Gum arabic; talc, iron oxide black (E 172); iron oxide yellow (E 172); iron oxide red (E 172); kerosene oil; solid kerosene; sucrose.

Possible side effects

Like any medicine, Agiolax can have side effects. Exceptionally, diarrhea may occur, especially in older persons. Very rare cases of mechanical esophageal obstruction have been described after insufficient fluid intake during the use of Agiolax, especially in elderly persons. The use of Agiolax during too long a period may cause muscle weakness (due to loss of potassium) and may alter intestinal habits. Very rare cases of hypersensitivity to the active ingredients have been described.

How to store

Store Agiolax out of the sight and reach of children. Store below 25°C, in the original container to protect against moisture. Do not use Agiolax if you notice any change to the packaging. Do not use this medicine after the expiration date. Do not use after 6 months after opening the box.
