Properties

Vitamin D3 optimizes the formation of strong bones and teeth and promotes the absorption of the minerals calcium and phosphorus in the body. Vitamin D3 also plays a role in maintaining resistance or immunity and proper muscle function.

• Alfa Vitamin D3 comes from a natural source. In food, vitamin D occurs in the forms D2 and D3. However, only D3 (cholecalciferol) is the biologically active form of vitamin D and is 5 to 10 times more active than D2.
• Alfa Vitamin D3 contains olive oil to further increase the absorbability of vitamin D3 in the body.
• The softgel contains natural chlorophyll.
• Free of allergens (gluten-containing grains, soy, milk, egg, fish, crustaceans, celery, mustard, nuts, sesame seed, sulfite, lupin, mollusks and peanuts).

Recommendations

• Converting vitamin D3 to the active vitamin D in the blood requires magnesium. If you notice that your blood vitamin D levels do not rise after taking vitamin D, it may be due to a magnesium deficiency. Therefore, supplement throughout the day with 2 to 3 capsules of Alpha Magnesium.
• If you take vitamin D along with a calcium supplement for more than 3 months, it is advisable to have your blood calcium levels checked.
• A number of medications lower your vitamin D status. As a result, your vitamin D needs may be 2 to 3 times higher. These are medications from the group of antiepileptic drugs, corticosteroids and steroid hormones. In such cases, have your blood vitamin D levels measured annually.
• Supplementation of natural vitamin D in combination with synthetic vitamin D analogs (e.g., calipotriol) may increase the risk of hypercalcemia.
