Properties
Aquacel Hydrofiber dressing is a soft, sterile, non-woven dressing made of hydrocolloid fibers (100% sodium carboxymethylcellulose). With wound exudate, Aquacel forms a gel paste. Aquacel absorbs wound fluid only vertically into the fibers. This prevents maceration of the surrounding skin. The fibers retain the wound fluid for long periods of time, preventing dehydration.
Aquacel can remain in situ for up to seven days, but if the dressing is used on heavily exudative wounds or for other clinical reasons, it is advised to change the dressing more frequently.
To be used in:
The treatment of moderate to heavily exudative wounds.
Chronic wounds:
- Decubitus.
- Ulcus cruris.
Acute wounds:
- Schafing and cutting wounds.
- Blisters.
- Donor sites.
- First- and second-degree burns.
Aquacel is further used in the treatment of surgical and traumatic wounds that heal secondarily. For local treatment of wounds that tend to bleed, such as wounds created after mechanical or surgical debridement. Aquacel Hydrofiber dressing facilitates the control of minor bleeding.

Product quality is good. Delivery was slower than expected. Will give them another try as price is fair.
