Features

Atrauman are ointment compresses without active ingredients for atraumatic wound care. The thin, soft and flexible polyester support material ensures optimal contact with the wound, which is necessary for proper wound drainage. The hydrophobic polyester filaments and the smooth surface structure of the wide-mesh gauze prevent adhesion to the wound. Together with the ointment impregnation, the dressing ensures that dressing changes can take place painlessly, without danger of occlusive effects or accumulation of exudate. Abundant exudate is redirected into the absorption pad applied over Atrauman. The neutral, non-sensitizing ointment mass keeps the wound edges supple and thereby supports epithelialization. The ointment does not contain kerosene; after removal of the dressing, no ointment residue remains in the wound, conditions for possible surgical interventions are more favorable, wound cleaning is facilitated.

• Wide-meshed support material made of hydrophobic polyester impregnated with a triglyceride-based ointment mass without active agents.
• For wound care, especially for moisture-secreting wounds (e.g. in abrasions, lacerations, bruises, burns, scalds, etch wounds).
• For covering skin graft wounds on donor and recipient.
• For use in plastic and cosmetic surgery, nail extractions, phimosis operations etc.
• Because of its neutral ointment mass, it can also be used in dermatology and for patients with sensitive skin or hypersensitivity to certain medications.

Recommendations

• Therapeutically active substances can be used purposefully on doctor’s orders.
• Atrauman should not be used if the patient is hypersensitive to any of its constituents.
• Store lying down, not above 40°C.
