Beconase nasal spray is used to treat hayfever, allergies and allergic rhinitis. It belongs to the family of medicines known as corticosteroids. Beclometasone is used to treat allergic rhinitis symptoms of hayfever and seasonal allergies, including runny nose, itchy nose, sneezing, and blocked nose.
Beconase contains the active ingredient beclomethasone dipropionate, which belongs to the family of medicines called steroids. Beconase nasal spray contains 50 micrograms of this corticosteroid.
Beclometasone does not provide immediate relief. In most cases, it will take 2-3 days before the medicine reaches its full effect.
However, when it does begin to take effect, it delivers relief from allergy symptoms by helping to reduce swelling and inflammation caused by allergens that trigger an immune response.
Beconase hayfever relief gets to work right where the problems stem from – in the nose. The corticosteroid brings relief to the allergic reaction, decreasing the response from the immune system, treating hayfever.
Beconase is an adult nasal spray. The usual starting dose for adults (over the age of 18) is two sprays into each nostril twice daily to control symptoms.
