While cold and flu symptoms are incredibly alike, the flu is more extreme. The main differences between the flu and a common cold include:

Flu

Feverishness.

Body aches, muscle pain, and chest pain.

The onset of symptoms is rapid.

Extreme weakness and tiredness.

Runny or blocked nose, throat irritation, chills, and a headache.

A dry cough (non-productive) becomes more extreme.

A cold

The onset of symptoms occurs slowly.

A fever isn't expected.

Mild tiredness and frailty.A hac

king cough, which usually responds well to cough treatments.

Minor pains and aches, chest pain, nasal and sinus congestion.

Runny or blocked nose accompanied by sneezing and a sore throat.

Paracetamol is an analgesic that relieves body aches, headaches and lessens your temperature due to feverishness. Phenylephrine hydrochloride (a decongestant) unblocks your sinuses and nose, so you breathe more effortlessly.

Pour the contents of one sachet into a mug.

Pour in some very hot water to the halfway mark.

Mix thoroughly.

Add cold water or sugar if need be.

Take one sachet every four to six hours (applies to adults and children aged 16 years and above).

Avoid taking any more than six sachets in a 24-hour period.

Avoid giving to children below the age of 16 years unless your doctor has advised you to.

Speak to your GP before using this medication if you're currently receiving treatment from your GP, taking prescribed medicines or are pregnant. Avoid taking it for more than seven days unless your doctor advises you to.

While this medication won't induce drowsiness, it may cause vertigo. If you notice any disorientation, lethargy or vertigo, avoid driving or operating machinery.
