Camu camu is a yellow to purple-red fruit that grows on up to 5-meter-high shrubby trees on the swampy banks of the Amazon in South America. Research showed that camu camu can easily contain up to 2% vitamin C, depending on its ripeness. Biotona Bio Camu Camu + Acerola is sourced from 100% organic acerola from Brazil and camu camu from Peru. The berries are processed by freeze-drying immediately after harvesting and selection into a powder that is very close to fresh berries in taste, smell and color. That drying process also ensures that the naturally present nutrients and phytonutrients are optimally preserved.
