Biotona Sencha + Matcha is a blend of loose green tea (sencha) and matcha powder that surprisingly combines the complementary flavors of both green teas from Japan. Sencha is an everyday green tea with a sweet, slightly bitter taste. Matcha is a sophisticated green tea with a rich and intense umami flavor.
- They are both made from young tea leaves, traditionally harvested in early May (the first harvest), after an overshadowing period of 1 week and 5 weeks, respectively.
How to use
- Japanese green infusion teas are prepared by infusing processed whole tea leaves in hot water. The amount of tea and water used, as well as the temperature of the water and infusion time are different depending on which tea you choose. It is important to choose soft (slightly mineralized) water and to observe the temperature of the water. After all, if you choose a higher temperature, the tea will taste extra bitter, unless of course you want it to.
- For an ultimate and extended taste experience, a second (possibly third) infusion can also be chosen. In the first infusion, the rolled up tea leaves gradually open and release the first flavors. In a second infusion, they are already open and then release their other flavors. To do this, the same amount of water at approximately the same temperature is added to the already infused (and poured/ decanted) tea leaves. Depending on personal preference, either the same or a slightly shorter infusion time can be chosen for this purpose. Let personal taste and preference guide you and experiment to the fullest with this green gold!
