Bisacodyl EG is a laxative drug that acts on the contraction of the musculature of the intestinal wall, speeding the passage of feces to the rectum. In addition, this drug causes more water to enter the intestines, changing the volume and consistency of feces, facilitating defecation. Bisacodyl EG is indicated in short-term treatment of the symptoms of constipation (constipation); bowel obstruction before and after surgery, before certain radiological recordings and before some examinations of the small intestine (endoscopy) and of the colon (coloscopy).
How to use
Take the tablets in the evening to have stools in the morning. Action occurs within 6 to 12 hours of taking them. The tablets should not be taken simultaneously with milk or products that reduce the acidity of the stomach. An interval of 2 hours should be respected. The tablets should be swallowed whole with plenty of water, without biting them.
Dosage
- Adults and children over 10 years of age: 1 to 2 tablets.
- Children 2 to 10 years of age: 1 tablet.
Always start with the lowest dose. The dosage may be adjusted up to the maximum recommended dose to produce regular bowel movements. The maximum daily dose should not be exceeded.
