Calpol Six Plus Suspension provides effective relief from pain and fever, including toothache, headache, sore throat, aches and pains, and feverishness. Formulated with a higher concentration of paracetamol (250mg per 5ml) compared to infant paracetamol, this makes it suitable for older children. It also doesn't irritate the stomach, making it a suitable choice for children with sensitive stomachs. And it comes with an easy-dose syringe for accurate and convenient dosing.
Also available as a strawberry flavoured oral suspension.
Calpol Six Plus Suspension effectively alleviates pain and fever symptoms in children and adults aged 6 and above, including toothache, headache, sore throat, aches and pains, and fever.
It works by blocking prostaglandins, substances that contribute to pain and inflammation. While providing symptomatic relief, it's not a cure for underlying conditions. Consult a doctor if symptoms persist or worsen.
The ingredients in Calpol Six Plus Suspension Original are:
Paracetamol 250mg/5ml
Sucrose
Sorbitol solution (E420)
Glycerol
Microcrystalline cellulose and carmellose sodium
Polysorbate 80
Methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218)
Sunset yellow (E110)
Purified water
Orange flavouring
Imitation white sugar (containing propylene glycol (E1520))
Please note this product contains sucrose and sorbitol, so it's not suitable for people with fructose intolerance.
It also contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate and propyl parahydroxybenzoate, which may cause allergic reactions in some people.
Children aged 6-8 years: 5ml up to 4 times in 24 hours
Children aged 8-10 years: 7.5ml up to 4 times in 24 hours
Children aged 10-12 years: 10ml up to 4 times in 24 hours
Children aged 12-16 years: 10-15ml up to 4 times in 24 hours
Adults and children over 16 years old: 10-20ml up to 4 times in 24 hours
To give the medicine:
Shake the bottle well before use, for at least 10 seconds
Use the syringe provided to measure the correct dose
Wash the syringe after each use
Do not give more than 4 doses in any 24-hour period. Leave at least 4 hours between doses.
Do not give to children under 6 years of age.
Calpol Six Plus Suspension is suitable for children and adults aged 6 years and over. It can also be used by adults who have difficulty swallowing pain relieving tablets.
Calpol Six Plus Suspension should not be taken by:
Children under 6 years of age
Anyone who is allergic to paracetamol or any of the other ingredients in the medicine
Anyone who has severe liver or kidney problems
Anyone who is taking other paracetamol containing products
Anyone who is taking warfarin or other anticoagulants
Anyone who is taking methotrexate
