Directions for use

Dosage

Unless your doctor has prescribed otherwise, the recommended dosage is:

• Adults and elderly: Take 1 chewable tablet per day (equivalent to 1000 mg calcium and 880 IU (International Units) vitamin D3).
• Pregnant women: take half a chewable tablet daily (corresponding to 500 mg calcium and 440 IU (International Units) vitamin D3). Do not exceed the daily dose of half a tablet.

Composition

This medicine contains 1000 mg of calcium and 880 IU of vitamin D3 per chewable tablet. The other ingredients in this medicine are: isomalt (E953); xylitol (E967); sorbitol (E420); anhydrous citric acid; disodium citrate; magnesium stearate; sodium carmellose; orange flavoring CPB 239 (contains: natural orange oil concentrate; natural/nature-identical mandarin oil; natural/nature-identical liquid tropical fruit flavoring; natural/nature-identical orange oil; natural/nature-identical multi-fruit flavoring; mannitol (E421); maltodextrin; gluconolactone; sorbitol (E420) 1.953%; propylene glycol 0.382%, benzyl alcohol 0.28% and sodium 0.001%); orange flavoring CVT 255 (contains natural orange oil; natural mandarin oil; nature-identical orange flavoring in powder form; mannitol (E421); gluconolactone; sorbitol (E420) 1.763%; medium-chain triglycerides); aspartame (E951); acesulfame potassium and cholecalciferol concentrate (contains: sodium ascorbate; all-rac-tocopherol; modified (corn) starch; sucrose; medium-chain triglycerides; colloidal silicon dioxide).

Warnings

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine. With long-term treatment, the concentration of calcium in your blood and urine as well as the function of your kidneys should be monitored regularly. This is especially important if you have a tendency to form kidney stones.

Possible side effects

Like any medicine, D-Vital Forte Orange can have side effects. Not everyone experiences them. Side effects can occur with certain frequencies, which are defined below:

• Rare: Nausea (nausea), diarrhea, abdominal pain, constipation, flatulence (flatulence), bloating (distension of the abdomen), stomach pain. Rashes, itching, hives.
• Uncommon: High concentrations of calcium in the blood (hypercalcemia) or in the urine (hypercalciuria).
• Very rarely: Milk-alkali syndrome.
• Not known: Hypersensitivity reactions such as swelling of the face, tongue, lips (angioedema) or swelling of the throat (laryngeal edema) with sudden difficulty breathing and severe skin rash.
