Dafalgan 500 mg is an analgesic (analgesic) and an antipyretic (works to lower fever). This medicine contains paracetamol and is used for the symptomatic treatment of pain and fever in adults and children 12 years and older.
Directions for use
Always use Dafalgan 500 mg exactly as described in the package insert. If in doubt, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
The tablets should be swallowed without chewing, with a glass of water or another drink. The effervescent tablets should be completely dissolved in a glass of water and then drunk.
Dosage
- For persons 33 kg to < 50 kg: 1 tablet, every 6 hours, up to a maximum of 4 tablets (2000 mg) per day.
- For persons over 50 kg: 1-2 tablets, every 4 to 6 hours, up to a maximum of 8 tablets (4000 mg) per day.
Composition
Dafalgan contains paracetamol. The effervescent tablets also contain sodium, sorbitol (E420), sodium benzoate (E211) and in flavor fructose, glucose and sucrose.
Warnings
Do not use Dafalgan if you are allergic to paracetamol, phenacetin or any of the other substances in this medicine. Be extra careful with this medicine if you suffer from a condition of the kidneys, heart, lungs, or anemia. Do not take alcohol during treatment with paracetamol.
Possible side effects
Like any medicine, Dafalgan can have side effects. The most serious side effect caused by taking paracetamol is severe liver damage. Contact a doctor immediately if you notice any of these symptoms.
Storage instructions
Store Dafalgan out of the sight and reach of children. Store it in the original container to protect against moisture. Do not use it after the expiration date.

What should you not combine with Dafalgan?
You should not combine Dafalgan with alcohol and certain medicines such as barbiturates, antiepileptics, probenecid, chloramphenicol, metoclopramide or domperidone, colestyramine, warfarin and other coumarins, zidovudine, salicylamide, isoniazid, lamotrigine, diflunisal and flucloxacillin. Can I use Dafalgan effervescent tablets during my pregnancy?
If it is really necessary, you may use Dafalgan during pregnancy. Use the lowest possible dose that will reduce the pain and/or fever and use the drug for as short a time as possible. Contact your doctor if the pain or fever does not lessen or if you need to take the drug more often.
Is Dafalgan good for inflammation?
Dafalgan is an analgesic and fever reducer, but it does not have anti-inflammatory properties.
How much time is there between Dafalgan and ibuprofen?
