Duspatalin Retard is a medication containing the active ingredient mebeverine hydrochloride and is used to relieve the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome in adults and adolescents 12 years of age and older. Symptoms vary from person to person but may include:
- Stomach pain and cramps.
- Bloating and flatulence.
- Diarrhea, constipation or a combination of both.
- Small, hard, ball-shaped or ribbon-shaped stools.
How to use
Take the capsules whole with a full glass of water. Try to take the capsules around the same time every day.
Dosage
- The usual dosage is 1 capsule of 200 mg twice a day. In persistent cases, the dosage may be increased to 2 capsules of 200 mg twice a day.
- When the desired effect is achieved, the dose may be gradually reduced after several weeks.
- Take 1 capsule in the morning and 1 capsule in the evening.
Composition
Each capsule contains 200 mg of mebeverine hydrochloride. The other substances in this drug are magnesium stearate, polyacrylate dispersion 30%, talc, hypromellose, copolymer of methacrylic acid and ethyl acrylate (1:1) dispersion 30%, glycerol triacetate.
Warnings
Contact your doctor or pharmacist before taking Duspatalin Retard if it is the first time you have these symptoms, if there is blood in your stool, if you have nausea or vomiting, if you look pale and feel tired, if you have severe constipation, if you have a fever, if you have recently traveled, if you have difficulty urinating or pain while urinating, if you have unusual vaginal bleeding or unusual vaginal discharge, if you are pregnant or nursing.
Possible side effects
Stop taking Duspatalin Retard and consult a doctor immediately if you notice any of the following serious side effects: difficulty breathing, swelling of your face, neck, tongue or throat. You may have a serious allergic reaction (hypersensitivity reaction) to this medicine.
