Properties

Hallux valgus is a position deviation of the big toe, in the direction of the other toes. The head of the first metatarsal is further away from the foot and starts to protrude: an internal exostosis, or lump, develops. This deformity affects 5-10% of the population and can be particularly debilitating.

• Corrects and limits the development of hallux valgus (“lump”) and relieves joint pain.
• The corrective orthosis can be used in all types of shoes, has a flexible and extremely thin, patented design and features EPITHELIUM™ FLEX technology.
• As opposed to rigid orthoses, the action of this model addresses all factors that aggravate the deformity.
• Machine washable at 40°C.
• Duration of use: several months.

Recommendations

• Contraindication: the orthosis should not be used if the big toe can no longer move sideways.
• Sizing chart:
  • Small: 20 to 21.5 cm, Medium: 21.5 to 23 cm, Large: 23 to 24.5 cm.
  • Measure the circumference of your foot at the back of the hallux valgus (‘lump’).
  • If in doubt between 2 sizes, take the smallest.
  • The orthosis is suitable for both the left foot and the right foot.
