Flammazine is a sterile white cream based on silver sulfadiazine, a local antibacterial agent. The cream is used for the local treatment and prevention of infections and burns and as adjunctive treatment in common and localized cases of skin and wound infections. Flammazine is indicated for adults, adolescents and children over 2 months of age.
How to use
The duration of treatment varies from case to case and should be based on periodic assessment of the wound by a physician. Flammazine Cream should not be used for more than 14 days without assessment by a physician. Flammazine can be applied in two ways:
- Apply the cream directly to the wound. Apply a layer of about 2 to 3 mm to the wound and cover it with sterile gauze.
- Apply Flammazine to a piece of sterile gauze and place it on the wound. In either case, you can apply a loose dressing.
You should apply Flammazine Cream once a day. Remove the old layer before applying a new one. To do so, use a damp cloth or clean with a physiological solution if possible.
