Gaviscon Antacid-Antireflux is a combination of two antacids (calcium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate) and an alginate. Gaviscon Antacid-Antireflux neutralizes excessive stomach acid, reducing pain and discomfort, and forms a protective layer over the stomach contents, which can last for up to 4 hours, to relieve the burning sensation in your chest area. This drug is used to treat acid-related symptoms caused by reflux of acidic stomach contents into the esophagus. The symptoms may include heartburn, acid regurgitation and indigestion and may occur, for example, after meals or during pregnancy.
