Gaviscon Antacid-Antireflux Unidose | 24 sachets

Gaviscon Antacid-Antireflux is a combination of two antacids (calcium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate) and an alginate. Gaviscon Antacid-Antireflux neutralizes excessive stomach acid, reducing pain and discomfort, and forms a protective layer over the stomach contents, which can last for up to 4 hours, to relieve the burning sensation in your chest area. This drug is used to treat acid-related symptoms caused by reflux of acidic stomach contents into the esophagus. Complaints may include heartburn, acid regurgitation and indigestion and may occur, for example, after meals or during pregnancy.

Directions for use

• Adults and children 12 years and older: 10-20 ml (one or two sachets) after meals and before bedtime, up to four times daily.
• Children under 12 years of age: to be used only on medical advice.

Composition

Each 10-ml sachet contains 500 mg of sodium alginate, 213 mg of sodium bicarbonate and 325 mg of calcium carbonate. The other substances in this drug are carbomer 974P, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), sodium saccharin, peppermint flavoring, sodium hydroxide and purified water.

Warnings

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before using Gaviscon Antacid-Antireflux Unidose if you have severe kidney disease, have an electrolyte disorder that causes low blood phosphate levels (hypophosphatemia), have or have had kidney or heart disease, or have decreased gastric acid in the stomach.

Possible side effects

In very rare cases (in less than 1 in 10,000 users), an allergic reaction to one of the substances in this drug may occur. Possible symptoms may include abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, itchy skin, rash, rash, itching, dizziness and swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat and difficulty breathing.

Storage instructions

Store this medicine out of the sight and reach of children, below 30°C. Do not store in the refrigerator or freezer. Do not use this medicine after the stated expiration date.
