Gaviscon Baby | 150 ml

Gaviscon Baby is an oral suspension containing the active ingredients sodium alginate and sodium bicarbonate. These substances help reduce the symptoms of reflux in babies. Reflux is a common problem in babies where stomach acid flows back into the esophagus, which can lead to discomfort and crying.

Directions for use

Gaviscon Baby should be administered orally after each meal. It should not be mixed with milk or food. Before use, shake the bottle well. Using the dispensing syringe, suck the necessary amount of suspension from the bottle and administer to the child. After use, rinse the dosing syringe thoroughly and dry it.

Dosage

• 0 to 1 month: 1 ml after each meal (6 times a day).
• 1 to 2 months: 1.5 ml after each meal (5 times a day).
• 2 to 4 months: 2 ml after each meal (5 times a day).
• 4 to 18 months: 2.5 ml after each meal (4 times a day).
• From 18 months: 5 ml after each meal (4 times a day).

Composition

The active ingredients in Gaviscon Baby are: 250 mg sodium alginate and 133.5 mg sodium bicarbonate per 5 ml. The other substances are calcium carbonate, carbomer, sodium hydroxide, sodium saccharinate, banana flavor, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216) and purified water.

Warnings

Gaviscon Baby should not be administered to children who are allergic to any of the substances in this medicine or with impaired renal function. Extra caution should be taken in children on a low-salt diet, with too much calcium in the blood, with kidney stones, or with changes in bowel movements.

Possible side effects

As with other medicines, some infants may experience side effects when taking Gaviscon Baby. These may include hypersensitivity, constipation, nausea, diarrhea, intestinal obstruction, flatulence and abdominal distension.

Storage

Gaviscon Baby should be stored out of the sight and reach of children. Store the medicine below 25°C and not in the refrigerator. Close the bottle carefully after use. Use the medicine within 30 days of opening.
