Properties

HCU Anamix infant is a powdered methionine-free dietary food for infants supplemented with long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCPs) and prebiotics. It contains essential and non-essential amino acids, carbohydrates, fats (including DHA), vitamins, minerals and trace elements. It is suitable for the dietary treatment of homocystinuria in infants 0 to 12 months of age and as a supplement in children up to 3 years.

HCU Anamix infant cannot be used as the sole source of nutrition, but should be given in combination with another protein source, such as breast milk or permissible amount of infant formula/follow-up milk, to meet methionine requirements.

Use Directions

1. Pour the required amount of boiled water that has cooled to body temperature into the sterile feeding bottle.
2. Add the prescribed number of graduated scoops to the water in the feeding bottle.
3. Turn the cap on the feeding bottle and shake until the powder is dissolved.
4. Check the temperature of the food on the inside of the wrist before feeding.

Recommendations

The daily dosage of HCU Anamix infant should be determined by the doctor or dietitian and depends on the patient’s age, weight, height, medical condition and blood levels. The daily amount should be divided into portions throughout the day and preferably given in combination with a natural protein source.
