Properties

HYAFLEX FORTE is indicated in the treatment of joint pain or stiffness due to degenerative or post-traumatic osteoarthritis of the knee as a replacement or addition to non-pharmacological, traditional treatment or analgesic treatment. All synovial joints, particularly the weight-bearing joints, contain viscoelastic hyaluronic acid. That substance has lubricating and shock-absorbing properties. By reducing the load on cartilage, it can renew itself and consequently slow down the progression of osteoarthritis.

Active ingredients

The hyaluronic acid in HYAFLEX FORTE is a natural polysaccharide derived from microorganisms (Streptococcus zooepidemicus) that has been subsequently purified.

How to use

HYAFLEX FORTE must be administered by a physician:

• HYAFLEX FORTE is injected into the joint cavity to restore joint fluid.
• Treatment with HYAFLEX FORTE consists of a single injection.
• The dosage and number of injections depend on the severity of the patient’s symptoms.
• The effects of the treatment may persist for at least 6 months after the injection of HYAFLEX FORTE.

Ingredients

Single-use glass syringe containing 3 ml of product in a sterile package: 1 ml HYAFLEX FORTE contains 20.0 mg of sodium hyaluronate dissolved in physiological saline solution (pH between 6.8 and 7.8).
