Iso-Betadine Unigyn 10% is a vaginal solution to disinfect the skin and mucous membranes of the vagina. Iso-Betadine Unigyn 10% contains iodine (in the form of polyvidone iodine), an antiseptic that kills microbes (bacteria, viruses, fungi) and prevents infections. Use

Iso-Betadine Unigyn 10% should always be used vaginally. The liquid should never be drunk. Pour the entire contents of the 10-ml bottle into the 140-ml bottle. Insert the cannula. Insert the disinfecting solution obtained into the vagina once or twice a day.

Composition

The active substance in Iso-Betadine Unigyn 10% is polyvidone iodine. Other substances in this remedy are purified water and decylpolyglucoside.

Warnings

Do not use Iso-Betadine Unigyn 10% if you are allergic to any of the substances in this medicine, have a thyroid disorder, or if you use preparations containing mercury, lithium, alkali, or sodium thiosulfate. The drug is not suitable for premature infants or children under 30 months of age.

Possible side effects

Like other drugs, Iso-Betadine Unigyn 10% may have side effects, including hypersensitivity reactions of the skin, excessive thyroid function (hyperthyroidism), disruption of ion concentration, metabolic acidosis, weight change, contact eczema, rapid swelling (edema) of the skin, mucous membranes and facial subcutaneous tissues (angioedema), hives, transient skin discoloration, and abnormal number of osmotically active particles in the blood (osmolarity of blood), renal failure due to acute renal insufficiency.
