Laxavit is a solution for rectal use that promotes bowel movement (lavement). Laxavit contains two agents that promote bowel movement: glycerin and sodium docusate. Laxavit is indicated for the treatment of constipation of the rectum (rectum) and difficult bowel movements. Laxavit does not treat the underlying cause.

Directions for use

Dosage

• Adults and children 12 years and older: gently insert the contents of 1 applicator deep into the rectum (rectum) and squeeze out.
• Children: do not administer to children under 2 years of age. In children between 2 and 12 years of age, only half a dose should be used.
• Treatment may be repeated a maximum of 2 to 3 times per week.

Method of administration

The specially developed shape of the applicator (device for administration) ensures easy and hygienic administration.

• Moisten the tip of the applicator.
• Gently insert the applicator deep into the rectum (rectum).
• While doing so, avoid hurting the rectum.
• Press the applicator to empty.
• Try to hold up the lavement for 5 to 15 minutes.

Warnings

Do not use Laxavit if:

• You are allergic to any of the substances in this medicine.
• You suffer from highly developed hemorrhoids, fissures, bleeding inflammation of the rectum (rectum) or abdominal pain of unclear origin.
• In cases of peritonitis.
• In children under 2 years of age.

Composition

The active substances in this drug are sodium docusate and glycerin. The other substance in this drug is sorbic acid (E200).

Possible side effects.

Like any medicine, Laxavit can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. Possible side effects include:

Gastrointestinal disorders

• Rare: a burning sensation during prolonged use.
• Very rarely: diarrhea, blood accumulation in the rectum, pain in rectum or anus and bleeding.

Hepatic and bile disorders.

• Rare: liver toxicity, especially when Laxavit is combined with certain other stool stimulants.

Storage

Do not use Laxavit after the expiration date. Keep out of the sight of children.
