Levocetirizine Teva is an anti-allergy medicine. It is used to treat disease signs (symptoms) of allergic conditions such as allergic rhinitis (including persistent allergic rhinitis) and hives (urticaria).

Directions for use

Always take Levocetirizine Teva 5 mg exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Tablets should be swallowed whole with water and can be taken with or without food.

Dosage

• Adults and children 6 years of age and older: one tablet per day.
• Patients with severe kidney disease requiring dialysis should not take Levocetirizine Teva.
• Patients with renal impairment and patients with both liver and renal impairment may be given a lower dose, if necessary, according to the severity of their renal disease.
• In children, the dosage is also determined based on body weight.

Composition

The active substance in this medicine is levocetirizine dihydrochloride. Levocetirizine Teva 5 mg also contains lactose. If your doctor has informed you that you do not tolerate certain sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine.

Warnings

Levocetirizine Teva is not recommended for children under 6 years of age. Caution should be exercised when taking alcohol or other drugs that act on the brain at the same time. If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, want to become pregnant or are breastfeeding, contact your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.
