Loratadine Teva contains the active ingredient loratadine, which belongs to the group of drugs called antihistamines. Loratadine Teva is used to relieve:
- Symptoms of allergic inflammation of the nasal mucosa (e.g., hay fever), such as sneezing, runny or itchy nose and burning or itchy eyes.
- Symptoms of chronic urticaria (a form of skin rash with intense itching and formation of bumps, also called hives).
Loratadine Teva is suitable for adults and children 2 years of age and older who weigh more than 30 pounds.
Directions for use
- Adults and children 6 years and older with body weight over 30 kg: Take 1 tablet once a day with a glass of water, with or without food. Body weight of 30 kg or less: Do not give Loratadine Teva tablets.
- Adults and children with severely impaired liver function: Adults and children weighing more than 30 kg:Take 1 tablet once every other day (once every 2 days) with a glass of water, with or without food. However, check with your doctor, pharmacist or nurse before taking this medicine.
- Children under 2 years of age: Loratadine Teva is not recommended in children under 2 years of age.
Composition
The active substance in Loratadine Teva is loratadine. Each tablet contains 10 mg of loratadine. The other substances in this medicine are lactose monohydrate, corn starch, pregelatinized starch and magnesium stearate.
