Losec MUPS 20mg tablets are an effective treatment for acid reflux symptoms. Losec MUPS is taken as an oral tablet and reduces the amount of acid in the stomach. This prevents gastric acid from refluxing up the respiratory tract, helping to relieve symptoms such as heartburn and acid reflux. Losec MUPS are gastro-resistant tablets that are safe to take and are commonly prescribed by pharmacists and doctors to treat acid reflux symptoms.
However, it is advised that long-term use of Losec MUPS tablets and other PPIs is avoided, as this can lead to side effects including: kidney disease, bacterial infections, subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus, toxic epidermal necrolysis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, and bone fractures.

Drinking alcohol with Losec MUPS is not advised. Whilst there are no serious interactions between alcohol and PPIs, alcohol can worsen the gastrointestinal problems that the medication is intended to treat, including heartburn.
Whilst Losec MUPS tablets cannot be chewed or crushed, they can be halved and dispersed in a small amount of water or juice to help make taking the tablet easier.
Most people begin to feel better within 2 to 3 days of taking Losec MUPS, helping relieve acid reflux symptoms quickly. For some patients, it can take up to 4 weeks for acid reflux symptoms to subside.
