Macrogol + Electrolytes EG is a laxative used to treat chronic constipation (constipation) in adults, children (12 years and older) and the elderly. It helps make bowel movements easier, even if you have been constipated for a long time. Macrogol + Electrolytes EG also helps to treat very severe constipation, which is called fecal impaction (complete severe constipation).

Instructions for use

Open the sachet and pour its contents into a glass. Add about 125 ml of water to the glass. Stir well until all the powder is dissolved and the solution is clear or slightly cloudy, then drink the solution. If you are being treated for fecal impaction, it may be easier to dissolve the 8 sachets in 1 liter of water. The prepared solution can be stored covered in the refrigerator, but no longer than 24 hours.

Dosage

• For chronic constipation: 1 sachet one to three times a day, depending on the severity of your constipation.
• For fecal impaction: take 8 sachets per day within 6 hours, as needed, for 3 days.

Composition

The active ingredients in Macrogol + Electrolytes EG are macrogol 3350 (13.125 g), sodium chloride (350.7 mg), sodium bicarbonate (178.5 mg) and potassium chloride (46.6 mg). The other ingredients in Macrogol + Electrolytes EG are lemon flavoring and acesulfame potassium (E950) as a sweetener. Lemon flavoring contains the following ingredients: Gum Arabic (E414) and flavoring.

Warnings

Do not take Macrogol + Electrolytes EG if you are allergic to any of the substances in this medicine, have a perforation in the intestinal wall, have a blockage of the intestines (intestinal obstruction, ileus), or have a severe inflammatory bowel disease such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, or toxic megacolon.
