Medica Throat Spray Lemon is a spray for local action in the mouth and pharynx. The spray is a disinfectant and local analgesic and is indicated in the treatment of the symptoms of sore throat, a red throat and conditions of the pharynx associated with irritation. In case of bacterial infection with fever, additional treatment is required. Medica Throat Spray Lemon does not contain sugar and is therefore also suitable for people with diabetes.
How to use
The recommended dosage is:
- Adults and children 12 years and older: 3 to 5 sprays at a time, 6 to 10 times a day.
- Children 2.5 years and older (30 months): 2 to 3 sprays at a time, 3 to 5 times a day.
The medicine should not be used long-term. Consult a doctor if your symptoms worsen or do not improve after 3 to 4 days.
Composition
The active ingredients in this medicine are: chlorhexidine digluconate 20 mg/10 ml lidocaine hydrochloride monohydrate 5 mg/10 ml. The other ingredients in this medicine are: lemon flavoring – sucralose – glycerol (E422) propylene glycol (E1520) – citric acid monohydrate – ethanol (E1510) – purified water.
Warnings
Do not use Medica Throat Spray Lemon if you are allergic to chlorhexidine digluconate, lidocaine hydrochloride monohydrate or any of the other substances in this medicine. It should not be used in children under 2.5 years of age (30 months). If the dose is too high, there is a small risk of reducing control of the swallowing reflex.
Possible side effects
Very rarely, allergic skin and mucosal reactions may occur. With long-term, continuous use, a brown discoloration of the teeth may occur. However, this discoloration is easily removable.
