Medica Throat Spray Menthol is a spray for local action in the mouth and pharynx. The spray is an antiseptic and local analgesic and is indicated in the treatment of the symptoms of sore throat, a red throat, disorders of the pharynx associated with irritation. In case of bacterial infection with fever, additional treatment is required. Medica Throat Spray Menthol does not contain sugar, so it is also suitable for people with diabetes.
How to use
- The recommended dosage for adults and children 12 years and older is 3 to 5 sprays at a time, 6 to 10 times a day.
- Children 6 years and older may use 2 to 3 sprays at a time, 3 to 5 times a day.
Warnings
This spray should not be used in children under 6 years of age and in persons who are allergic to chlorhexidine digluconate, lidocaine hydrochloride monohydrate or any of the other substances in this medicine. Extra caution should be taken with prolonged use and in young children who have already had a seizure of convulsions.
Possible side effects
Like any medicine, Medica Throat Spray Menthol can have side effects. These can range from taste disturbances and burning sensations on the tongue to severe allergic reactions. Long-term use may cause browning of the teeth, but this is easily removed.
