Properties

PKU Anamix infant is suitable for the dietary treatment of phenylketonuria in infants 0 to 12 months of age and as a supplement in children up to 3 years of age. The daily dosage should be determined by the doctor or dietician and depends on the patient’s age, weight, height, medical condition and blood levels. The daily amount should be divided in portions throughout the day and preferably given in combination with a natural protein source.

PKU Anamix infant cannot be used as a sole source of nutrition, but should be given in combination with another protein source, such as breast milk or allowable amount of infant formula/follow-up milk, to meet phenylalanine and tyrosine requirements.

Use instructions

Recommended concentration: dissolve 15 grams of powder (= 3 scoops) in 90 ml of water to 100 ml of formula.

• Pour the required amount of boiled water cooled to body temperature into the sterile feeding bottle.
• Add the prescribed number of measured scoops to the water in the feeding bottle.
• Turn the cap on the feeding bottle and shake until the powder is dissolved.
• Check the temperature of the feeding on the inside of the wrist before feeding.

Recommendations

• Unopened storage: shelf life indicated on the package, do not expose to temperatures higher than 25˚C.
• Unopened storage: up to 4 weeks (kept cool and sealed, not in the refrigerator).
• Prepared: prepared food has a shelf life of up to 24 hours if covered and stored in the refrigerator. However, in infants under 6 months of age, use the food within 1 hour of preparation and discard leftover food.
