Movicol Lemon is a laxative based on macrogol 3350 and electrolytes and is intended for the treatment of constipation in adults, adolescents and the elderly. Movicol helps you have an easier bowel movement even if you have been constipated for a long time. Movicol is also effective for very severe constipation called fecal impaction. The use of Movicol in children under the age of 12 is not recommended.
Instructions for use
Dosage
- Constipation: Take one sachet 1-3 times a day according to the severity of your constipation. Treatment usually lasts about 2 weeks. If you need to take Movicol longer, see your doctor.
- Fecal impaction: Before taking Movicol for fecal impaction, it should be confirmed that you have this condition. The dose for treatment of fecal impaction is 8 sachets of Movicol per day. Each sachet should be dissolved in 125 ml of water. The 8 sachets should be taken within 6 hours and, if necessary, for up to 3 days. If you have a heart problem, you should not take more than 2 sachets in one hour. The treatment can last up to 3 days.
Use
Open the sachet and pour its contents into a glass. Add about 125 ml of water to the glass. Stir well until all the powder is dissolved and the Movicol solution is clear or slightly cloudy, then drink the solution. If you are taking Movicol for fecal impaction, it may be easier to dissolve 8 sachets in one liter of water.
