Nesivine Nasal Spray is used to treat the symptoms of nasal congestion, for example, nasal colds or sinus inflammation. The effect lasts for up to 12 hours.
Directions for use
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the enclosed package insert or as told to you by your doctor or pharmacist. It is recommended to first rinse the nose with saline solution. If the nasal congestion persists, Nesivine Nasal Spray can be used. After 5 days, does your complaint not lessen, or does it even get worse? If so, contact your doctor.
Dosage
Normal use is 1 spray into the nostrils 2-3 times a day. Usually it is sufficient to use Nesivine Nasal Spray only once a day, if necessary the nasal spray may still be used 2 to 3 times a day. The maximum administration is 1 spray or 2 drops at a time and 3 sprays or 6 drops per day in each nostril.
Warnings
There are a number of situations in which you should be extra careful with this medicine or should not use it. Do not use Nesivine Nasal Spray if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in this medicine or to sympathomimetic amines, if you have inflammation in the nose without swollen mucous membranes, or in children under 7 years of age.
Be extra careful when using Nesivine Nasal Spray if you:
- Are being treated with certain medicines for depression (MAO inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants) and other medicines that can increase blood pressure.
- Suffer from increased eye pressure, especially in cases of so-called narrow-angle glaucoma.
- Have a serious heart or blood vessel condition.
- Have a tumor in the adrenal medulla (pheochromocytoma).
Possible side effects
Like other medicines, this medicine can have side effects, although not everyone gets them. The most common side effects are nasal discomfort, dry nose, sneezing, increased swelling of the nasal mucosa, nasal bleeding, drowsiness, headache, palpitations, increased blood pressure and hypersensitivity reactions.
How do you store Nesivine Nasal Spray?
Store this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiration date. After opening, all forms of Nesivine 0.05% can be used for 6 months.
