Important: Do not give Nurofen for Children Oral Suspension to:
Children under the age of 7 years old or weigh less than 20kg
Children who are allergic to ibuprofen or other NSAIDs, or any ingredient in this medicine including aspirin
Children who have ever suffered from shortness of breath, asthma, a runny nose, swelling on their face and/or hands or hives after using aspirin or other similar painkillers (NSAIDs)
Children who have (or have had two or more episodes of) a stomach ulcer, perforation or bleeding
Children who have ever had a gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, related to previous use of NSAIDs.
Children who have a history of stomach ulcers or bleeding problems
Children who are taking other blood-thinning medications
Children who have asthma and are sensitive to aspirin
Children who have severe liver, kidney or bowel problems
Children who have severe heart failure
Children who have a fructose intolerance
Children who are taking other NSAID painkillers or other related painkillers, including aspirin with a daily dose above 75mg
If you are unsure whether or not Nurofen for Children is safe for your child, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Some other things to keep in mind:
This liquid ibuprofen suspension should be used with caution in children who have diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease, or chicken pox
Nurofen for Children can interact with other medications, so it is important to tell your doctor or pharmacist about all of the medications your child is taking
Nurofen for Children should not be given to children for more than 3 days without talking to your doctor
