Pantogastrix 20 mg contains the active ingredient pantoprazole, which blocks the “pump” that produces stomach acid. This reduces the acid level in your stomach. Pantogastrix 20 mg is used as a short-term treatment for reflux symptoms (e.g., heartburn, acid reflux) in adults. Reflux is the reflux of stomach acid into the esophagus, which can cause it to inflame and hurt. This can cause symptoms such as a painful burning sensation in the chest that rises to the throat (heartburn), and an acidic taste in the mouth (acid reflux). You may experience relief from acid reflux and heartburn after just one day of treatment with Pantogastrix 20 mg, but this medicine is not intended to provide immediate relief. It may be necessary to take the tablets for 2 to 3 consecutive days to relieve symptoms.
