Physalis Happy Mama contains Quatrefolic, the biologically active form of folic acid or 5-MTHF (bound to glucosamine). That form is directly usable by the body without any metabolization, unlike other forms of folate. Folate contributes to tissue growth in the (expectant) mother (such as uterus and placenta, among others). Active vitamin B12 (MecobalActive, a very pure form of methylcobalamin), vitamin C and iron contribute to the reduction of fatigue. Iron contributes to the production of red blood cells and plays a role in cell division, as does vitamin D. Iodine supports cognitive functions and normal growth in children. Physalis Happy Mama also contains choline (VitaCholine) which contributes to normal homocysteine metabolism.
