Properties
The geranium originated in South Africa (mother plant = pelargonium graveolens) and was crossed a lot which produces cultivars in Egypt, China and Reunion. The term “bourbon” means “islands”: the cultivar “bourbon” comes from the Indian Ocean (Reunion) but also from Madagascar where the soil is suitable for growth. It is harvested at the beginning of flowering. It prefers coastal hills and sand dunes in full sun.
