Properties
The rhizome of ginger has been used for more than 6,000 years in India and China to treat stomach problems, diarrhea and nausea, as well as for its culinary purposes. Currently, multiple double-blind placebo trials have demonstrated the efficacy and harmlessness of ginger for treating pregnancy and postoperative nausea. The “E Commission” for phytotherapy recognizes the medicinal use of the rhizome of ginger to treat digestive problems and prevent nausea due to motion sickness.
