Properties

RespoSorb Silicone is a super absorbent single-use sterile wound dressing with a silicone wound contact layer for the long-term treatment of damaged skin, acute and chronic wounds, with moderate to high exudate levels. It is used in adults only, by healthcare professionals in clinical or home care settings and can be combined with topical antiseptics, primary and secondary dressings and under compression.

Use instructions

• Clean the wound using a physiological solution or as directed by a physician.
• Choose a dressing that is the appropriate size for the wound so that the dressing overlaps the wound edges by approximately 1 to 2 cm. The dressing should not be cut to size.
• After rinsing the wound, dry the area around the wound with cotton swabs before the wound dressing can be applied.
• Remove the endpapers. Place the wound dressing with the adhesive side on the wound, with the green side facing up.
• Fix the dressing with e.g. a Peha-haft fixation bandage or other suitable fixation device, or, if necessary, with compression bandages according to a doctor’s instructions.
• The dressing may be left on the wound for up to 5 days, depending on the wound condition and the standard of care applicable to it 
• The dressing should be changed if necessary. The dressing should be changed if clinically indicated or when exudate reaches the edge of the dressing.
