Properties

RespoSorb Silicone Border is a self-adhesive sterile single-use superabsorbent dressing with a silicone wound contact layer for the long-term treatment of damaged skin, acute and chronic wounds, with moderate to high exudate levels. It is used in adults only, by healthcare professionals in clinical or home care settings and can be combined with topical antiseptics and secondary dressings.

Use Instructions

• Clean the wound using physiological solution or as directed by a physician.
• Choose a dressing that is the appropriate size for the wound, so that the central wound pad extends about 1 to 2 cm beyond the edges of the wound. The green absorbent wound pad should not be trimmed. The transparent edge can be trimmed to adapt the wound dressing to the wound, e.g. with a concave shape.
• After rinsing the wound, dry the skin around the wound with cotton swabs before applying the wound dressing.
• Remove the two protective films. Place the wound dressing with the adhesive side on the wound, with the green side facing up.
• Press the adhesive edges firmly and make sure there are no creases in the edge so that the dressing stays in place.
• No additional fixative is needed. If necessary, a compression dressing may be applied at the direction of a physician.
• The dressing may be left on the wound for up to 5 days, depending on the wound condition and the standard of care applicable to it. The dressing should be changed when clinically indicated or when exudate reaches the edge of the wound pad.
