Robitussin Chesty Cough Medicine is a remedy for soothing chesty coughs known for producing sticky, thick mucus (phlegm) and causing chest tightness. Robitussin Chesty Cough comes in a natural cherry flavour, and works by thinning and loosening the mucus or phlegm so that you cough up catarrh more easily. Robitussin Chesty Cough is a natural cherry flavour cough expectorant that boosts the fluid made within your airways, so you cough more easily.
Robitussin Chesty Cough Syrup contains guaifenesin, a type of medicine known as an expectorant. This helps loosen and thin out the phlegm (mucus) produced in your lungs and throat. As a result, your airways start to clear, making breathing easier with less irritation. Guaifenesin doesn't treat the cause of your chesty cough, but it does help treat the symptoms associated with it.
Robitussin Chesty Cough Syrup works immediately after you've taken the first dose. Repeat the same dose again in eight hours, but avoid exceeding three doses in 24 hours.
You shouldn't take Robitussin for a chronic cough that occurs with asthma, emphysema, smoking, or if your cough is accompanied by an exceptionally large amount of mucus (phlegm).
