Properties

Recommended for:

• Preventing recurrences of urinary calculi (urate, xanthine or cystine stones). –
• Maintenance nutrition (indicated, among other things, for dog breeds that exhibit an increased risk of urinary stones such as the Dalmatian).
• Support for dogs suffering from leishmaniosis, treated with xanthine oxidase inhibitors (type Allopurinol)

Not suitable for:

• Pregnancy, lactation, growth
• Use of uric acid medication

Duration of treatment:

The duration of dietary treatment depends on the origin of the pathology. In case of urate stones, the diet will have to be prescribed for at least 6 months. In case of irreversible disorders of uric acid metabolism, lifelong administration is possible. In case of cystine stones, the diet can be prescribed initially for one year. Before any prescription renewal, a clinical check-up is indispensable.
