Scopoderm is a dermal patch to treat travel sickness and nausea. It contains the active ingredient hyoscine, which gets slowly released in the body via the patch. Scopoderm patches work by preventing the brain from receiving signals from specific areas of the body that causes a feeling of motion sickness, nausea and vomiting. It’s suitable for adults and children over 10 years old and contains the active ingredient hyoscine hydrobromide.

It is recommended that you should apply the Scopoderm patch five hours before you start your journey to receive the most positive effect. It will still have a positive effect if you apply the patch once you experience symptoms.
To use Scopoderm patches, place the adhesive side onto an area of dry, hairless skin behind the ear and hold the patch down for ten seconds. Ensure you wash your hands once you have applied the patch.
If the patch unintentionally falls off you should clean the area of skin that you applied the patch to. You should not reapply the same patch and instead apply a new patch behind the other ear.
One Scopoderm patch will control the symptoms of travel sickness for up to 72 hours (three days); if your journey lasts longer, you can remove the old patch and apply a new patch behind the other ear.
You should avoid alcohol whilst using Scopoderm and for at least 24 hours once the patch has been removed.
