Strepsils Lemon is used to relieve the symptoms of acute sore throat or as adjunctive topical treatment of laryngitis, inflammation of the tonsils and oral mucosa (such as gingivitis, aphthous ulcers, etc.).
- Also indicated for relieving nasal congestion, facilitating and improving breathing.
Instructions for use
- For adults and children over 15 years of age: slowly melt one lozenge in the mouth every 2 to 3 hours. Do not use more than 6 lozenges per day (24 hours).
- Children 8 to 15 years of age: one lozenge 4 times a day.
- Children aged 5 to 7 years: one lozenge 3 times a day.
- Do not use the lozenges for more than 3 to 4 days without medical advice.
Composition
The active ingredients in Strepsils Lemon are 1.2 mg dichlorobenzyl alcohol and 0.6 mg amylmetacresol. The other substances in this remedy are lemon flavoring, sodium saccharin, tartaric acid, liquid maltitol and isomalt.
Warnings
Strepsils Lemon should not be used in children under 5 years of age or if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. Use extra caution if a sore throat persists for more than 3-4 days and/or is accompanied by a fever. In this case, it is necessary to seek medical advice. This medicine is not suitable for young children because of the risk of choking.
Possible side effects
Like any medicine, Strepsils Lemon can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Some possible side effects include hypersensitivity, abdominal pain, nausea, oral discomfort such as burning or tingling in the mouth and swelling of the mouth or throat, and skin rash.
